Functional Safety Engineer

Contract, on-site Functional Safety Engineer role in Mendon/Logan, Utah. Develop and maintain safety concepts, requirements and safety cases for autonomous vehicle and robotic systems. Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments, define safety integrity levels, and support safety architectures, audits, verification and validation.

Focus areas include the functional safety lifecycle, STPA, FMEA, FTA, hardware and software safety integration, safety testing and simulation, and safety documentation. Relevant standards listed by the employer include ISO 25119, ISO 13849 and IEC 61508. Collaborate with hardware, software, systems and verification teams.
