Are you a hands-on engineer with experience in maintenance, electrical systems or industrial safety? Looking for a role that combines practical engineering, customer interaction and travel across the UK and Europe?
We’re recruiting for a Field Safety Engineer to join a specialist safety services team, helping manufacturers improve workplace safety and protect employees from hazardous energy.
This is a remote-based position, with approximately 50% travel across the UK and Europe, offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to work directly with customers across a range of industrial environments.
The Role
You’ll work on customer sites to assess machinery, identify energy sources and develop safe isolation procedures to help prevent accidents and improve compliance with safety practices.
Key responsibilities include
- Visiting manufacturing sites to assess machinery, layouts and safety requirements.
- Identifying and documenting energy sources, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and thermal systems.
- Creating visual safety and isolation procedures using specialist software.
- Installing machine safety labels, tags and identification placards.
- Auditing existing safety procedures and delivering customer training.
- Recommending appropriate safety equipment and solutions to customers.
- Building strong relationships with customer teams and supporting ongoing safety improvements.
About You
We’re interested in people with a practical engineering background who enjoy solving problems and working directly with customers.
You’ll ideally have
- Experience in industrial maintenance, automation, machine commissioning or machinery safety.
- A good understanding of electrical, mechanical or fluid systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Europe.
Relevant electrical or health and safety qualifications, such as IOSH, NEBOSH or similar, would be advantageous but are not essential.
What's on Offer?
- Company car.
- 6% annual bonus.
- Remote-based working with flexibility over your UK location.
- A varied, customer-facing engineering role with international travel.
- The opportunity to develop your expertise in industrial safety and hazardous energy control.
