Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (flexible) - Hybrid

Responsibilities
We’re looking for an experienced Principal Engineer (Intrinsic Safety) specialist to support and lead certification activities within a high-performing engineering team. This is a key role combining technical expertise, team support, and project ownership—helping ensure safe, compliant equipment for use in explosive atmospheres while driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Lead and deliver ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification activities in line with ISO 17025 and ISO 17065
- Act as a technical authority, providing guidance to clients and internal teams on certification requirements
- Support the Engineering Manager with team performance, utilisation targets, and project delivery (time, cost, scope)
- Drive continuous improvement across certification processes to enhance efficiency and client value
- Develop quotations, review certifications, and build strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
Essential
- Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
- Degree in Electronics
- ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification experience.
Desirable
